Landing the John Lewis Christmas ad is a big deal for any artist.
Those who have gained a huge amount of exposure and kudos from being featured on the festive promo in recent years include Lily Allen, Birdie, Ellie Goulding and Tom Odell.
With this year's 'Excitable Edgar' Christmas ad debuting today, you may be wondering how you know both the singer and the song.
The song is a golden oldie: power ballad Can't Fight This Feeling' by American rock band REO Speedwagon. The song was a huge hit upon its release in 1985, and they even performed it at Live Aid that same year.
The singer of the new version, meanwhile, is none other than Dan Smith of English indie-poppers Bastille.
As you may recall, they had a big hit with their debut single 'Pompeii' back in 2013 and have enjoyed a fairly successful career since, selling a reported 9 million records worldwide since then.
Smith intended the band to be a solo project before enlisting his three bandmates, Kyle, Will and Woody. They were originally going to be called 'Daniel in the Den' before deciding upon Bastille. Smith's birthday is July 14th, aka Bastille Day in France.
They released their third album 'Doom Days' earlier this year.
Dan Smith has collaborated on various projects over the years, too - from the 2014 Band Aid version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' to the charity version of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' for Grenfell Tower in 2017. He's also collaborated with electronic musician Madeon and DJ Marshmello.
