Shockingly, the big meanies that stole thousands of euro worth of music equipment from Cork band FRED during the week aren't quite the criminal masterminds that you may envisioned. After an exhilarating game of cat and mouse (ok, maybe not) the Cork Gardai caught up with the thieves and managed to retrieve all of the gear and return it to the band.

Perhaps the Gardai were so hugely efficient in this case to make up for the fact that the gear was robbed directly under their noses from outside Anglesea Garda Station, or perhaps they just couldn't bear to see Cork's favourite bunch of lads (and lass) unable to play tomorrow night's (23rd) gig in Mason's Derry.
