If you want an idea of just how huge the music video for 'Thank U, Next' was, it's surpassed 35 million views in less than 24 hours.

That's on par with the likes of the second trailer for 'The Force Awakens', which previously held the record for most viewed movie trailer in a 24-hour period with 30.65 million views.

Speaking of movies, the music video itself is replete with references to rom-coms and teen movies like 'Legally Blonde' (Jennifer Coolidge is even in the music video), 'Bring It On', 'Mean Girls' and even office favourite '13 Going On 30'.

The big stat coming off the back is just how many people actually watched the premiere of the video. YouTube rolled out a new feature - YouTube Premiere - which essentially acts like a countdown for the video and has a chatstream alongside the video as it happens.

YouTube reports that Ariana Grande's 'Thank U, Next' had 829,000 concurrent viewers - that's people watching it together, as it was released - making it the most-watched premiere on the service.

As if that wasn't enough, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner (who were in '13 Going On 30') and Reese Witherspoon (who was in 'Legally Blonde') have all posted about the video itself.
