As reported over the weekend, a third 'Legally Blonde' is officially in the works and today Reese Witherspoon confirmed that pre-production is now underway with a callback video.
The actor / producer posted a video of herself in a pool lounger floating by, calling back to the iconic Harvard admissions essay video from the first one in 2001. Witherspoon is now set to reprise her role as Elle Woods, with a screenplay by original writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith working on the new screenplay.

As of now, there's been no word as to who else will be returning for the third outing beyond Witherspoon, but it seems a given that the likes of Jennifer Coolidge - who also played Stifler's mom in 'American Pie' - will be returning as Paulette Bonafonté. Considering how the second one left it with Elle Woods winking at the White House, could there possibly be something about her character as a politician?
Who knows. No release date has been set as of yet for 'Legally Blonde 3'.
