Reynolds is currently launching Deadpool 2 in China. While there, he gave an update on Deadpool 3, which his team are already working on.
The Disney/Fox merger has many fans concerned about what impact it will have on the Merc with the Mouth.
A sanitised version of Deadpool was previously experimented with in the limited Christmas release Once Upon a Deadpool. But I think I speak for everyone when I say we missed the foul language and violence.
“[We’re] looking to go in a completely different direction [with Deadpool 3],” Reynolds said at a press event in China. He added: “Often, they reboot or change a character like four movies late.”
By the way, here are some fun facts about the Chinese release of Deadpool 2. Its full title translates to 'Deadpool 2: I Love My Family', which refers to a classic Chinese TV show of the same name from the 90s that follows the story of a family in Beijing.
Fun fact number two: Deadpool's Chinese fans have dubbed the character “Little Jianjian” - which loosely translates to “Little Bitchy Bitch.”
Reynolds laughed at the moniker to the press, saying: “I feel like my wife gave that to me first, but I guess China can get the credit.”
He called it the “perfect Deadpool nickname,” contining: “It could have been something much weirder, like ‘Hunting Wolf Blood-Chucker.’ I’ll take Little Bitchy Bitch any day; it’s the most fitting. In fact, ‘Deadpool 3’ should be called ‘Deadpool 3: Little Bitchy Bitch.”
