After the teaser for the sequel dropped a month ago, the official trailer for the sequel to 'Maleficent' has arrived.

'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' was originally to hit screens in May 2020. Lucky for fans of the Angelina Jolie-starrer, its date got pushed up to October of this year.

The film sees the return of Jolie in the titular role and Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora. Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville also reprise their roles.

Michelle Pfeiffer is new to the cast, playing the role of Queen Ingrith. Other newcomers include Ed Skrein, Harris Dickinson, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

According to the official synopsis:

"'The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within."

The action kicks off with a proposal Maleficent doesn't approve of. Then she spoils another royal celebration.

'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' hits screens October 18.
