While we all await an announcement for Kendrick's new album, it looks like he's got other projects on his mind at the moment

The rapper is gearing up to produce the new comedy movie. Production starts this coming Spring. However, There is no director attached to the project yet.

The movie is not yet titled, but some details of the plot are known. The film sees the past and present coming to a head when a young Black man who is interning as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his.

Kendrick's manager Dave Free will produce alongside the rapper through their company pgLang. Stone and Parker will produce via their company Park County. 'South Park's Vernon Chatman is also on board as a writer.

Paramount will distribute the movie and stream it via Paramount+.

Lamar stepped into the acting world in 2018, portraying the Dominican drug addict Laces in 'Power'. The rapper wrote to fans in August last year saying his next album will be his last under the TopDawg Entertainment label. There is hope that the album will release sometime this year.
