We're not sure who asked for this but Jared Leto will reprise his role as Joker.

The actor played the DC villain to a mixed reception in 2016's 'Suicide Squad'. Since Leto's performance, Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar for playing the Clown Prince of Crime in last year's 'Joker'.

But apparently of all the Jokers and all the 'Suicide Squad' characters (including Harley Quinn who got her own spin-off in 'Birds of Prey'), it's Leto they want for 'Zack Snyder's Justice League'.

The "Snyder Cut" is currently in the process of reshoots and it was THR who broke the news that Leto has joined filming.

Snyder had to exit the 2017 superhero epic 'Justice League'. Thus this will see him carry out his "definitive vision" for the film.

HBO Max is financing the reshoots and will distribute.

According to previous reports, Ray Fisher, Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill all returned to set for new scenes.

Amber Heard from 'Aquaman' is also on board, though it's unclear which other actors could pop up.

THR have also reported that Jon Berg and Geoff Johns will not be receiving producer credits on the Snyder Cut.

The then-studio executives oversaw the original 'Justice League' but have no involvement with this version.

They were the subjects of great controversy when Ray Fisher alleged they "enabled" Joss Whedon, who took over the shoot of the 2017 movie from Snyder, to display "gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable" behaviour.

Jared Leto is experiencing something of a comeback having also signed onto the 'Tron' threequel recently.

He'll also star in next year's 'Morbius'.
