Marvel's first family is finally getting their big-screen debut with Marvel Studios.

Director Jon Watts, who has helmed the recent Tom Holland-led 'Spider-Man' franchise will be leading the 'Fantastic Four' in their first arrival into the Marvel universe.

Following 20th Century Fox's child-friendly early 2000s adaptations, and Josh Trank's critically-panned reboot from 2015, the four superheroes will be getting a fresh take from Watts in the future.

No release date has yet been set, but the film is already in pre-production and work will begin once Watts finishes up on the third 'Spider-Man' multiverse crossover entry.

The news comes following Disney's Investor Day yesterday, with the company announcing tonnes of other new Marvel content to look forward to in 2021 and beyond.

There will be roughly 10 new Marvel series arriving over the next few years. The already-announced Marvel series for Disney+ are January 2021's arrival 'WandaVision', alongside 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier', 'Loki', 'What If...?', 'Ms. Marvel', 'Hawkeye', 'She-Hulk', 'Moon Knight', 'Secret Invasion', 'Ironheart', 'Armor Wars', 'Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special', and a series of shorts called 'I Am Groot'. All of these will be heading directly to Disney+.

In terms of feature films to look forward to in the cinema, there's 'Black Widow' opening in May 7, 2021; 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings' for July 9, 2021; 'Eternals' November 5, 2021; 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness' March 25, 2022; 'Thor: Love and Thunder' May 6, 2022; 'Black Panther 2' on July 8, 2022 (Marvel will not be recasting T'Challa, in honour of Chadwick Boseman); 'Captain Marvel 2' on November 11, 2022;  'Blade' starring Mahershala Ali; newly announced 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania' with Jonathan Majors portraying Kang the Conqueror; and finally 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' with returning director James Gunn, slated for a 2023 release.
