Promotion for the next Marvel Studios release is ramping up ahead of its debut in cinemas this May.

Marvel Studios' 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' has a new trailer, giving us a brief glimpse of some of the different versions of the former sorcerer supreme that will be making an appearance.

In the new footage, which has been titled 'Dream', it feels like more of a nightmare for Benedict Cumberbatch's titular character and his group of supporting heroes. The master of mystic arts can be seen going through various dream sequences, one of which also features Rachel McAdams' Christine walking down the aisle.

We see Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda grapple with reality once again, with the reappearance of her children from 'WandaVision', Billy and Tommy, making new appearances. Benedict Wong's newly-crowned Sorcerer Supreme, Wong, can be heard saying "the fate of the multiverse depends on us".

At the moment, it's not exactly clear how all of this reality-bending multiverse action begins to unfold. Whether its repercussions from 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', the ending of Disney+'s 'Loki', or potentially something new entirely - will all be revealed in due course.

Here's the new one-minute 'Doctor Strange 2' trailer.

A brand new poster for the film also dropped yesterday, placing Olsen's Wanda front and centre. We also see Chiwetel Ejiofor's Karl Mordo, who is believed to be the main protagonist of the film, reprising his role from the first entry in the franchise. Xochitl Gomez as portal-opening teenager America Chavez is also present, as well as McAdams' Christine.

Another IMAX poster teases the different versions of the characters that will appear throughout.

In case you missed it, there was another 30-second trailer released at the weekend entitled 'Fate' which focussed more primarily on Strange recruiting Wanda.

'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' hits cinemas on Thursday, May 5.
