The 'Syphon Filter' games could be seeing the light of day once again according to a ratings decision made by the Korean games rating boards.

An eagle-eyed Twitter user @The_Marmolade, four games in the series were recently re-rated in Korea, which indicates the games are getting a re-release in the near future.

Industry speculation points to the games being made available as part of the high-end PlayStation Plus Premium tier, which is due to launch in June.

The overhaul of PlayStation Plus was announced last month, and as part of the most expensive tier, a collection of 400 old PlayStation games dating back to the PS1 era were announced.

The re-rating of the 'Syphon Filter' games indicate these games will be available on the service.

'Syphon Filter', 'Syphon Filter 2', 'Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror' and 'Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow' are the games rated, with 2001's 'Syphon Filter 3' absent from the list.

'Syphon Filter 3' is notable among Irish gamers for having a level set in Dublin.

For €16.99 a month, subscribers to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier can avail of PS3 games available via cloud streaming and "A catalogue of beloved classic games available in both streaming and download options from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations," which makes the 'Syphon Filter' games the ideal candidate to fill that gap.

The first 'Syphon Filter' game was released all the way back in 1999 for the PS1, with the final entry in the series released in 2007 for the PSP and the PS2.

The games are famous for their cover-based and stealth mechanics and see players take on terrorist organisations around the world.

Developers Bend Studios have since gone onto bigger things, most notably 2019 hit 'Days Gone' which has become a fan favourite among PlayStation fans.
