Here's all 42 games included on the Sega Mega Drive Mini

The miniature console launches in September.

While the Sega Mega Drive Mini was announced a few months ago and the list of games for it has come in drips, the full list was posted earlier today by Sega.

In total, 42 games will be available on the revamped Mega Drive Mini with the console set to launch in September. Already announced were the likes of 'Earthworm Jim', 'Comix Zone' and 'Ecco the Dolphin', however the full list includes some surprising additions.

Chief among them is the original port of 'Tetris'. Why's that so surprising, you ask? Well, there's a whole story around 'Tetris' on the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis that'd take way too long to explain. The long and short of it is that the Mega Drive / Genesis version was supposed to be available back in the '90s, but owing to complex legal and licensing issues, it never happened.

Only 10 copies of the cartridge game are known to exist in the world and they're now worth their weight in gold. A signed copy of 'Tetris' by Alexey Pajitnov, was put up for auction in 2011 for the princely sum of $1 million.

You won't have to pay that amount, however, to play 'Tetris' on the Sega Mega Drive Mini as the starting retail price comes in at €79.99.
