After the so-so reactions to 'Halo 4' and 'Halo 5: Guardians', it looks like the veteran gaming franchise is going back to the start with 'Halo Infinite'.

A new trailer, along with eight minutes of gameplay, landed online late last night and showcased some of the new features of the game. As well as setting the game back where it all began - Halo itself - the game's art style and colouring looks as vibrant as the original game, eschewing the darker tones of previous games.

As well as this, the gameplay also showed off the improved physics engine, Master Chief's nifty grappling hook, as well as introducing the new villains of the franchise, called "The Banished" - which sounds like a WWE stable from the late '90s.

Interestingly, 'Halo Infinite' will launch with the Xbox Series X and will also be available on the Xbox One X, which was recently discontinued by Microsoft. No release date has been set for 'Halo Infinite' as of yet, however it's looking like the game will launch before the end of 2020 at the very least.

Here's the trailer and the gameplay video.
