In 1950s Rio de Janeiro, Euridice and Guida are two inseparable sisters, who live under the close watch of their conservative father, Manuel (Antônio Fonseca). Eurídice's ambition is to train as a professional pianist in Vienna, while Guida desires the warmth of true love.
