Metropolis Festival, RDS, Dublin

Metropolis festival is back this year, and it's bigger and better than ever before. With The Villagers and Friendly Fires rocking out on Saturday night, and Roisin Murphy and Mac Demarco giving it socks on the Sunday, you are in for a treat this weekend. Macnas Parade, Galway and Dublin City

'Out of the Wild Sky' is the theme for this year's Macnas parade, which is taking place in Galway city from 5.30pm on Sunday, and 7pm in Dublin on Monday night. With plenty of magic and mischief expected as always, this year's parade plans to be extra special. Head over to the Mannas website for details of the route's of the parades.


Guinness Cork Jazz Music Festival, Cork City

Richard Harris International Film Festival, Limerick City

The first year of this brand new festival, why not head out west this weekend. Featuring musical and visual experiences, as well as workshops, and family events, Westival has something for everyone. Bram Stoker Festival, Dublin

Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without the Irish author's best known work. The Bram Stoker festival begins in Dublin today, and promises "four days of living stories, four nights of deadly adventures". The Nightmare Realm, RDS, Dublin

The Nightmare Realm Dublin is an interactive walk-through Halloween experience that is definitely not for the faint-hearted. The aim is to prey on your deepest fears and nightmares and twisting them into a deadly reality. You can book tickets through their website.
