New Year's Festival Dublin is going to be bigger and better than ever. Announced this morning, there will be six musical and cultural events set to take place over two days in the heart of Dublin city.

Taking place on December 31, 2021, and January 1, 2022, the festival will host a range of musical artists at various locations across the city. Taking to the stage are headliners Gavin James, Picture This, Huson Taylor, Lyra, Hothouse Flowers, Cathy Davey, True Tides, Ryan Sheridan, Erica Cody and Roisin O. They'll be joined by An Emotional Fish, Frances Black, Fia Moon, Something Happens and Brad Heidi.

All gigs will be taking place at either Dublin Castle, St Stephen’s Green and Meeting House Square in Temple Bar. This year's New Year's Festival Dublin will host three separate countdown events on the evening of December 31, while the party will continue on January 1 with New Year's Day events.

New Year’s Matinee on December 31 will be a free event open to all ages, with Hudson Taylor, Róisín O and Fia Moon set to take to the stage at Dublin Castle. The event will start at 5 pm, leading to the earlier countdown spectacle at 7 pm.

The other two free events for all ages will be the New Year’s Afternoon In The Castle and Music In The Square, which are both taking place on New Year's Day. The full lineup details of these events will be announced soon.

Tickets for all events are either free or are individually priced, and must be booked ahead of schedule. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 12 at 9 am from Ticketmaster.
