The show kicked off three weeks ago and hasn't made an impact on US audiences.

Although people can't seem to get enough of 'Love Island' on this side of the Atlantic, the American version hasn't fared well at all.

Newly-released ratings figures put 'Love Island USA' well below the UK version, amassing only 2.25 million viewers per night. While that might seem like a lot, you have to remember that there's a massive difference in audience size between the US and Ireland and the UK.

A report by THR says that 'Love Island USA' is now joint 19th out of 23 unscripted reality shows being broadcast by major television studios. The show, which is now in its third week of airing, is competing with the likes of 'Big Brother', which is still going strong in the US and shows like 'The Bachelor'.

Meanwhile, 'Love Island' here in Ireland and the UK has undoubtedly been a major success, so much so in fact that it's already set dates for a winter version of 'Love Island' and is gearing up for next year's edition already. On top of that, Virgin Media is expected to air 'Love Island USA' in the near future.

'Love Island' continues on Virgin Media Two tonight at 9PM.
