Turns out car crashes aren't contagious. Who knew?
It's always good to know that in situations such as this, where we're all uncertain of the future, of what to believe and who to trust, that we can all spot a dumbass coming from a mile off.
Case in point is Dr. Phil McGraw, he of shit Bond villain house fame and being a pal to Oprah. Well, it turns out that Dr. Phil not only isn't a licensed doctor anymore (read his Wikipedia page, it's nuts), but that he doesn't even know much about how diseases spread.
Dr. Phil was on that bastion of responsible journalism, Fox News, last night and tried to compare the current situation with car crash deaths, smoking, and people dying in swimming pools. If that wasn't enough, Dr. Phil even tried to claim that the economy being restarted is more important than preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
You think we're joking? You think we made this up? Have a look at this. That moustache must catch some amount of sh*t on it because it's all coming out of his mouth.

Needless to say, Dr. Phil's idiotic statements and frankly disturbing reasons for "opening the economy" is getting him pilloried on Twitter and for good reason. It's a terrible idea.
This statement from Dr. Phil is stupid. None of the things he mentions is contagious.
Also, the case fatality rate of #COVID19 is over 4% in US. If 4% of people who routinely went swimming would die & 15% would end up in the hospital, I guarantee Dr. Phil would not go swimming. https://t.co/UmOx7QBtkH— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) April 17, 2020
The most meaningful thing Oprah could do to help right now would be to publicly disavow Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz. https://t.co/M3ErslMNqS

In all seriousness though, this is the kind of stupidity that Americans have to deal with on a daily basis. Is it any wonder they picked a failed TV game show host to lead them?
