Just when we thought we couldn't love her any more
Dolly Parton has become a recipient of the COVID-19 vaccine, and she even treated fans to a little singsong for the occasion.
She joins a growing list of high-profile celebrities who have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Willie Nelson, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and 'Wandavision' star Randall Park.
Parton had previously donated $1 million toward vaccine development at Nashville's Vanderbilt University.
She joked that she was getting "a dose of her own medicine" as she received her jab at the university.
The country singer superstar urged others to get their COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible too. She said: "I just want to say to all of you cowards out there: Don't be such a chicken squat, get out there and get your shot."
She demonstrated how easy it is by sharing a video of her getting the vaccination on Twitter.
Dolly Parton even sang a reworked version of her hit song 'Jolene' for the occasion. Its lyrics were: "Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine / I'm begging of you, please, don't hesitate / Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine / 'Cause once you're dead, then that's a bit too late."
Parton's longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad administed the COVID-19 vaccine. Afterwards, Dolly Parton exclaimed: "That didn't hurt! Just stung a little bit, but that was from the alcohol pad, I think."
