Could Raimi get the chance to make another adventure with the web-slinger?

Director Sam Raimi is currently doing the rounds for 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' but the legendary director has indicated he would love to return to the world of 'Spider-Man'.

In an interview with Fandango, the director, best known for his work on the 'Evil Dead' and 'Spider-Man' trilogies, has said he would be open to a return to the superhero series, with star Tobey Maguire reprising his role.

“I've come to realise after making 'Doctor Strange' that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups,” he said. “I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible.”

Raimi stated there were no concrete plans for him and Maguire to reunite, but he said he would be keen to return to the director's chair.

“I don't really have a story or a plan,” he said. “I don't know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don't know what their thoughts are about that. I haven't really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful."

"Even if it wasn't a 'Spider-Man' movie, I'd love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”

Raimi directed Maguire in the early 2000's 'Spider-Man' trilogy, with the original 2002 film regarded as the reinvention of the modern blockbuster.

The 2004 sequel 'Spider-Man 2' is regarded by fans and critics as one of the very best superhero films, and 2007's 'Spider-Man 3' has seen somewhat of a critical reevaluation in recent years after an initial mixed response.

'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' represents Raimi's first film as director since 2013's 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' and MCU producer Kevin Feige has teased that fans will get some trademark Raimi goodness when the film hits cinemas this May.

Feige told Empire Magazine that he gave Raimi a high degree of creative control on the new 'Doctor Strange' film.

"We want it to be a Sam Raimi movie. We would give notes like, ‘This action is cool – you’re competing with 'Avengers ' and 'Spider-Man', no problem – but don’t forget the Sam Raimi parts."

"You will see just how Sam Raimi it is, in ways that will make fans of 'Evil Dead II' very happy," Feige teased.
