It seems that rumours of The X Factor's demise have definitely not been greatly exaggerated.

With viewing figures on the singing contest at their lowest-ever ebb in 2015, it's now been revealed that sales of the winner's single have also been the lowest-ever for an X Factor winner.

Louisa Johnson was named winner last weekend and immediately released her winner's single, a cover of Bob Dylan's 'Forever Young'.

However, she sold just 39,000 copies of the single, making it the lowest-ever figure that a winner has clocked up. Needless to say, it didn't hit the number one spot on the UK charts - instead limping in at a sad number 9.

In the Irish charts, the song went in at number 12.
