Glen Hansard revisited 'Once' on the Sam Jones podcast (which is really great) and, amongst other things, talked about how Cillian Murphy was supposed to play the lead role.
Jones is a famous photographer, whose show 'The Off Camera Show' is also a podcast; he has sat down with one of the most famous people on the planet and just had conversations. It's really great.
This chat with Hansard is fascinating and lovely, as he talks about the apprehension about taking the role and his relationship with director John Carney, as well as the special piano where they played 'Falling Slowly' in a Dublin music shop.
And here's that lovely scene.
John Carney recently dropped into the office to talk movies and music with our Brian on his Insider podcast. Have a butchers.
