The live music business is a risky place. One moment you're on stage in Mexico, singing your sultry Latino pop songs and swinging your sexy hips; the next, you're in an ambulance on your way to hospital with a bloody hand.

There are on-stage injuries, and then there are bizarre on-stage injuries - and Enrique Iglesias slicing his hand open on a drone is definitely in the latter category.

The pop heartthrob was playing a gig in Tijuana, Mexico over the weekend when he attempted to catch a drone that was flying over the crowd (all part of the show, by the way). Unfortunately, whatever way he caught it it sliced his fingers open badly.

A rep for the singer told Associated Press: "During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a point of view shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident. He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show. He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to LA to see a specialist."

Not only did he continue the show, but he daubed a heart shape on his white t-shirt with his own blood. What a… er… trooper?

Apparently he had to have 'reconstructive hand surgery' in hospital.

An accident, or did the operator of aforementioned drone just get sick of hearing 'Hero' one too many times?

OR….. even more sinister… HAVE THE ROBOTS BECOME SENTIENT?
