As the music world begins to come to terms with Prince's passing, the tributes are flooding in.

Bruce Springsteen, currently in the midst of a world tour, took to Brooklyn's Barclay Center stage and opened his show with a heartfelt and pitch-perfect rendition of Prince's most well-known hit, Purple Rain. In an odd twist of fate, there was something of a rivalry between Prince and the Boss.

Back in 1984, when Purple Rain was first released, the album obviously went straight to the top and stayed for some time. The only album that could topple Prince's reign was - you guessed it - Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA.

Man, think about what we're all going to be like when the day comes that the Boss is no longer with us. Christ.
