Musicians all over the world have been reacting to Ireland voting 'yes' in the marriage equality referendum.

They include U2, who are currently on tour in North America and who dedicated 'Pride (In the Name of Love)' to their home country at a gig in Arizona on Saturday night.

Bono changed the song's lyrics to "they could not take away your gay pride" and reportedly said "We have peace in Ireland today! And in fact on this very day we have true equality in Ireland!"

Other musicians congratulated Ireland on the outcome of the historic vote, including Morrissey, who released a statement entitled 'Congratulations to Ireland', saying:

"The people, once again, teach the church. The people, once again, teach the politicians.

Now, Ireland, please abolish fur farms and factory-farming and transportation of live animals, and welcome yourself completely into the 21st century."
