With The Stone Roses gearing up for a series of live dates this summer - including one at Dublin's Marlay Park -  speculation is mounting that they're also on the verge of releasing their third album to coincide with the gigs.

Ian Brown and co. have not released an album since 'Second Coming' in 1994, but The Mirror quoted a 'source' as saying: "Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three. It's a long time coming but they feel the time is right now. They've been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it."

They added: "When the band reunited in 2012 there was never any concrete plans. But now they feel everything is in place to record a new album."

None of the band have made any official comment, other than bassist Mani previously saying that they had been 'working on a few bits'.

A spokesman for the band declined to comment on the rumours - but it looks like we may be hearing a few new songs in the setlist alongside the likes of 'I Am the Resurrection' and 'Fool's Gold' this summer...
