The Erics take place in The Button Factory on January 29th and will see some of the country's most exciting musical acts entertain the crowd on the night.

Over the next few days, we'll grab a quick chat with each of them.

Today, we speak to Galway's electro-fiddling wunderkind, Daithí. "Im excited to be celebrating all the cool stuff of 2014 with Entertainment.ie," he told us. "It's going to be an amazing night."

Check back over the next few days for our catch-ups with The Riptide Movement, Le Galaxie and State Lights - and don't forget that tickets for The Erics are available at a limited price now.

You're playing The Erics at the end of this month – what can we expect from your set?

The Button Factory is one of my favourite venues to play in, so I'll be aiming to blow the roof off, lots of energy.

You're also nominated for Best Live Act in this year's Erics - what do you think your chances are?

Pretty low! There are some seriously amazing acts in that list, but to be honest I'm just happy to be nominated.

For someone who's never heard your music, describe it in three words.

Dance music; fiddle.

Your music has evolved a lot over the last few years - does fiddle still play an important part in your live set, or were you wary of becoming known as 'the electropop fiddler'?

It definitely is one of the most important parts of the live show. You can show so much energy on stage with an instrument like the fiddle. It keeps me from being stuck behind a laptop.

What was your favourite album/gig of last year?

Favourite album was probably Caribou's, and his show in Vicar Street was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

What was the best gig that you played in 2014?

I headlined in the dance tent at Castle Palooza, and it was incredible, the crowd were really up for it.

In an ideal world, what should we put on your Erics rider?

My manager puts 'Lego' and 'colouring books' on my rider without me knowing to make me look like an ass. Get a tenner and give it to the homeless!

What release/gig are you most looking forward to in 2015?

Right now we are talking to festivals but it's very hush hush. In March, if everything goes to plan I'll be playing a few shows in Moscow, which will be exciting.

What can we expect from Daithí in 2015 – have you thought about new material yet, or are you still basking in the success of In Flight?

I'm back in my Galway studio again writing, other than that I'll be releasing a few remixes soon.

What would most people be surprised to find out about Daithí?

I can't get even get out of bed without some sort of podcast playing. It's really bad, I think I'm developing a phobia of silence.
