We've no idea how this musical pairing came about, but we have to admit, we're intrigued.

Actress Daisy Ridley, aka Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, posted a picture to Instagram yesterday revealing that she had been recording with none other than Barbra Streisand. The caption of the photo (below) read: "I'm gonna end this spate of pictures detailing my insane weekend with this... Ummmmmmmmmmmm..."

Although Streisand is well-known for her many duets and collaborations over the years, we're somewhat surprised that Ridley is branching out into music, considering her burgeoning acting career.

Then again, Star Wars director JJ Abrams apparently did say that she has a 'beautiful voice'... at a pre-Oscars event, he revealed Ridley's plans, according to Variety:

“The other day we were talking, and she told me that on Saturday, she’s going to record a song with an unnamed person, but a, let’s just [say] massive superstar person … and then on Sunday, she’s presenting an Oscar at the Academy Awards,” he said. “And then on Monday, she’s flying back to the U.K. to star in ‘Episode VIII.’ And she looked at me and she said, in the sweetest, Daisy-est way, ‘What is my life?’ And as her agent, CAA’s excellently Irish Hylda Queally knows well, Daisy’s life is a bit like Rey’s: She’s on a crazy adventure, and it’s just beginning.”
