Moz cancels French and Swiss dates due to massive "flu outbreak" among his crew
Morrissey has endured a litany of health woes in recent months, ranging from pneumonia to a recent cancer diagnosis, and the health curse seems to have struck again after numerous crew members from Moz's touring entourage were struck down with a heavy dose of the flu.
Friday's scheduled concert in Lyon was canned after flu struck down a member of the crew. The following night's Swiss show in Lausanne followed suit and it's thought likely that tonight's Basel gig will also suffer the same fate.
A statement issued by Team Moz on fansite True-To-You: "Due to ongoing influenza amongst band and crew members tonight's show at Lausanne cannot take place. It is hoped that the show will be re-scheduled for December. Tomorrow's show at Basel looks unlikely, although Wednesday's show at Hannover remains firmly in place. Apologies are offered for any inconvenience."
Morrissey, now 55 years old, has been hospitalised numerous times over the course of the last 18 months for ailments ranging from double pneumonia, a respiratory infection, a bleeding ulcer and food poisoning.
