For the last five years Mansun have confused the critics with their genuinely weird fusion of new romanticism and prog-rock. On the third album from the Chester quartet, the surrealism is finally beginning to make sense. Paul Draper's soulful vocals and Dominic Chad's glam-goth guitar work are given an epic, over the top production which somehow takes generic indie songs and transforms them into graceful, dramatic records. It fades a little towards the end, but for the most part Little Kix is gloriously, ridiculously entertaining.
