North Dublin duo's debut release has more than a hint of the downbeat about it. That said, it'd be unfair to classify Joan of Arse so stringently. Gorgeous, heartfelt songs and a sense of humour make this a subtle, sublime treasure. And don't let the suspect production values put you off either.
