Months of rumour and speculation have been laid to rest with the confirmation that The Stones Roses are currently recording new music.

It's believed that one of the most iconic British indie bands ever are working on what is presumed to be their third album at The Church Studios in London, according to NME.

They approached frontman Ian Brown for a comment outside the studio yesterday, and he confirmed that the new material was sounding 'glorious' and that it would be coming 'soon'. The studio is owned by Paul Epworth, who has worked with the likes of Adele, U2, Coldplay and many of the biggest pop artists in the world.

Brown and band members had told fans outside the studio and in a nearby pub a similar story, but Brown's confirmation to a media outlet sets it in stone.

With the band's summer touring schedule kicking off at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on June 15th, it's likely that we will hear at least a new song, if not an album by the band before then.
