If his potential collaborators are anything to go by, it looks like Zayn Malik's solo material may be taking a distinctly urban direction.

The former One Direction singer recently signed a deal with RCA Records, stating his intention to make 'real music'. 

Now, Chris Brown has expressed his interest in working with his labelmate Malik, calling him his "homeboy." 

"Of course, of course," he told Capital FM when he was asked whether he'd work with him. "I don't shy away from anyone and I think he's a great artist. Now he's doing his solo thing, I know he has a huge fan base and the fans are waiting to hear his stuff, so it would be cool to get down and collab."
