Blues legend BB King has been hospitalised in Los Angeles for dehydration, according to reports in the LA Times.

King's daughter Claudette told the newspaper that her 89-year-old father suffered from Type II Diabetes and that the dehydration was a result of that condition - but that he is doing "much better" since his hospitalisation.

It's not the first time that the same symptoms have struck the blues legend; last year, he was forced to cancel several live dates due to 'dehydration and exhaustion'. He is still a prolific live artist, playing up to 100 dates a year.

King is revered as one of the all-time greatest guitarists and a key player on the blues scene for the last 70 years or more. In 1989, he collaborated with U2 on 'When Love Comes to Town', a track from their live album 'Rattle and Hum.'
