Yesterday Xpose announced they were bringing in a brand new presenter to join their team, as former 3e presenter Cassie Stokes is set to fill in for Karen Koster when she goes on maternity leave shortly.
28-year-old Cassie has been living in Canada the last few years working on Entertainment Tonight, and it was while abroad she realised she was gay and began a relationship with a woman.
Speaking to the Irish Sun yesterday, Cassie said; "It was a coming-of-age thing where you realise what you like and don’t like. I guess not knowing anyone in Canada made me feel a bit more free. I’m gay and that’s just the way it is and I couldn’t be more happy or proud."
Cassie has also revealed she is looking for love following her split from her girlfriend, and although she has dated both guys and girls in the past, she confirmed; "I’m never going back to guys. I’m only interested in girls. And I think it’s important to be open about your sexuality, no matter who you are.
"If you are not open about it, you are inadvertently saying it’s wrong, and there is nothing wrong with it. I am very proud of who I am and that is who I am."
One man she will be going on a date with however is the person she calls her mentor, Vincent Browne, having previously worked on his TV3 current affairs show, with Cassie saying; “We will have drinks now I’m back, so you might see us in the Bailey."
Vincent on the sauce? The Tweet Machine would be all over that.
