We're well used to spending plenty of time in front of the tellybox on the Emerald Isle (the weather usually ain't like this now, is it?) so when UPC asked Irish viewers what their all time favourite TV moment was, we're sure they expected quite the variety of things to pop up.

However, it's rather clear that when it comes to our telly, we can all agree on one thing: No Eurovision interval act will ever rival Riverdance. The Irish public has voted that magical moment in 1994 as their favourite in Irish TV history.

September 11th came a close second (we're guessing that's because it's memorable, not entertaining), while Robert Sheehan's departure from Love/Hate beat Olympic golden girl Katie Taylor to claim third place. The Bray boxer still polled strongly at number 4, while Miley and Fidelma's roll in the hay endured to nab the fifth slot on the leader board.

When you break the findings down a little further, you're treated to a trip down memory lane. Mike Murphy's candid camera prank with Gay Byrne still holds a place in our hearts it seems, as does Pat Kenny's decision to act out and rip up those Toy Show tickets. Sure we never knew he had it in him.

Also on the list were Stephen Fry's cameo in Ballykissangel, Princess Diana's death, the rugby Grand Slam, and of course, Packie Bonner's all-important save against Romania in Italia 90. We'll let the lads from The Van fill you in on that one.

Sure they just don't make 'em like they used to, do they lads?
