The trailer for the 'West Wing' reunion special coming to HBO Max has landed online.

The special aims to raise awareness and support for Michelle Obama's organisation When We All Vote. It sees the original cast of 'The West Wing' reunited for the first time in 17 years.

Creator Aaron Sorkin and executive producer and director Thomas Schlamme are behind it.

Martin Sheen, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Rob Lowe, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford will all reprise their roles for the event.

Those hoping for a new episode will be a tad disappointed. The special involves rather a theatrical stage presentation and reproduction of the episode "Hartfield's Landing" from season 3.

It first aired in February 2002.

This new edition of it was shot over a number of days this month at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles using COVID-19-safe protocols.

Sterling K. Brown joins the cast for the special.

There will also be act breaks with guest appearances from Michelle Obama, President Bill Clinton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more.

The full title of of the project is 'A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote'.
