The Night Manager was undoubtedly one of the best shows of 2016 and last night, its lead Tom Hiddleston, justifiably secured himself the award for Best Actor in a Mini-Series.

However it was his speech that left many perplexed as the actor ended up telling a long anecdote about his time in South Sudan that sounded akin to somebody rambling on about their Gap Year. ("Did I ever tell you guys about my time in South Sudan? Ya, South Sudan.")

Anyways, the moral of the story was something along the lines of how watching The Night Manager helped the Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders get through a shelling attack.

Because you see, it's the actors of this world that are the real heroes, you guys.

The reaction from the audience is the best part though, with the poor Stranger Things kids looking bored out of their tree, while Christian Slater and Vince Vaughn's faces are priceless.

We get that his intentions were noble, but self praise is no praise, Hiddleston.
