If you've been living under an online rock for the past few days, you won't have heard about the closing episode to the 40th season of Saturday Night Live.

The episode was big news for two reasons. The fact that the show had finished a milestone 40th season, and the controversy that accompanied the show's closing monologue from guest host, Louis C.K.

But as is the case with most shows that require such a high level of creative output, there's often a few pieces that don't make the final grade. Thankfully that doesn't mean we never get to see the clips left on the cutting room floor, we just have to wait an extra day to find them online, like with this.

It'll come as no surprise to comic's fans that he had some surplus material, after all we're talking about a guy who puts out a new hour of stand up every year, and still finds material to put in his TV show, Louie.

If you haven't seen the episode yet, just remember that this wasn't funny enough to make the final cut. So yeah, it must have been pretty great.
