It’s fair to say Mike Judge was the 90s version of Seth MacFarlane; not to say they have similar senses of humour - they’re very different - but Judge enjoyed a level of success akin to the now superstar writer, director and actor.

Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill and, in movie form, the superb Office Space all garnered Judge a loyal following. While he certainly had his share of failures - both Idiocracy and Extract bombed - the man pushes a certain kind of comedy that’s very much unique to him and often hilarious.

His new show for HBO is his first live action series, and it looks fantastic. Silicon Valley has a cracking cast, a smart, ripe for comedy storyline about a tech start-up, and the perfect cable network for it - HBO.

The show premieres in the US on April 6th as HBO push it in their highly watched Sunday night slot (where The Sopranos, Entourage and Game of Thrones have thrived) and it really does look great.
