Sue Perkins hosted the BAFTA Television Awards, held in the Royal Festival Hall, London, last night.

As has come to be expected of the British comedian, Perkins brought the sharp witticisms and vibrant personality we knew she’d deliver on.

Her opening monologue for the awards ceremony was full of chuckle-worthy remarks but best of all was when she poked fun at the new GBBO team (fans of the show will of course remember how Perkins, Bake Off judge Mary Berry, and co-host Mel Giedroyc all left when the BBC controversially lost the series to Channel 4).

Perkins quipped that The Replacement is "a show about how stressful it can be when someone takes over your job. I really couldn't relate to it… The very best of luck to the new Bake Off team. They're going to need it. They're about to discover what Mel and I left for them in the groundsheet."
