It's looking like everyone in the country will have been nominated to do the ice bucket challenge by weeks end, but how bad, it's for a really great cause and sure some of these celeb folk could do with getting an ice cold dose of reality every so often!

RTE news presenter Sharon Ni Bheolain has now also joined in on the action after she was nominated twice already, both by The Nicky Byrne Show and during a news bulletin by Owen Kelly, whose 27-year-old nephew Padge is living with Motor Neurone Disease.

We did wonder if Sharon would rise to challenge, given her normally poised demeanor delivering us the news each day, would she really want the world to see her with a bucket of ice thrown over her?

Of course she would!

Well, she initially said she would accept the challenge only if she could raise €1,000 in donations for IMNDA, smart lady that Sharon.

The news presenter said: "I have to confess I'm not always the biggest fan of nominate or celebrity challenges but I have to make an exception for Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. Having witnessed their brilliant work and unfaltering support for family and care givers personally I will happily take my ice shower in exchange for pledges of at least €1,000. So dig deep for IMNDA and I’ll step up to the plate."

The sponsorship total is currently over €3,000, and Sharon is a woman of her word!
