Although it may feel like an eternity, the next season of Game of Thrones is a little under a year away from our screens.

In that time, actors have to keep fit and out of trouble so as to convincingly appear the same in one season to the other - all for the sake of visual continuity. Along the way, they might even be ordered to pick up a few classes or skills for the upcoming season.

Case in point, it appears, for Ser Davos Seaworth - better known as our own Liam Cunningham. Yes, from this video posted on Instagram, it looks like the man from East Wall is going to be getting into a scrap or two in the seventh season of Game of Thrones.

What's more, he's training with none other than John Kavanagh, Conor McGregor's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach and the owner of SBG. Take a look.

Now, unless we're mistaken, that's actually Jim Sheridan in the ring with them. No, really.

That guy with the white hair watching the two of them fight is veteran Irish director Jim Sheridan. It could very well be that this training isn't for Game of Thrones at all, but for an upcoming film with Sheridan.

The director has reportedly completed filming on The Secret Scripture, an adaptation of the famous novel by Sebastian Barry, and could be working on his next project already.

Maybe Jim Sheridan's guest-directing an episode of Game of Thrones? It could happen, y'know.
