Who knew Sean Bean could do comedy? It's certainly not a route the actor has gone down before, but looks like the Yorkshire star has a sense of humour after all, as you will see in E4's upcoming comedy 'Wasted'.

The new sitcom is about the antics of four friends in the West Country of England, and Bean shows up as the one and only Ned Stark/spirit guide to one of the leads, Morpheus (Danny Kirrane).

Kirrane said he had no idea that it would be Sean Bean himself playing the part when he first read the script;

"It said 'Sean Bean' and I was a bit confused by it. I thought it meant a stand-in... and then having spoken to the writers, they were like, 'No, it's actually Sean Bean' - I was like, 'What, really?'

"The scripts were brilliant anyway, they were so funny, and that obviously then raises it to a different level."

Kirrane added that Bean was 'a great sport' who 'really went for it' in his scenes;

"He even improvised. I found it really hard not to laugh when I did any of the bits with Sean. I don't think I've seen him in anything else like this - but he took to it like a duck to water."
