The slow pace of retirement is just days away for one of America's most famous chat show hosts, and it's proving an emotional time for all concerned. Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock was no exception and had more than a few tears in her eyes when interviewed by Jay Leno recently. Yes, we know she's an actress but this was real okay!

The star said: "You've always been so kind. That's saying a lot in this business, because we like to be mean," Bullock said. "There's not been one time you haven't treated me like I had something to offer - even when the film was awful and you knew it, you never let me see it in your eyes."

It's true - Sandra Bullock has made some God-awful movies in her time. Remember Speed 2? Best not think about that actually. She has of course redeemed herself fully in recent years with movies like The Blind Side (which earned her the Oscar) and the most recent Gravity.

This seems to be a trend in Hollywood recently, formerly rom-com style actors moving up in the world, look at Matthew McConaughey? Does this mean one day we may see the likes of Zac Effron scooping the big gongs? No.... could we?
