His bravery and determination brought the nation to tears on more than one occasion so we're not at all surprised to hear that Donal Walsh's story will be re-told in full in a brand new RTE documentary on New Year's Day.
Donal Walsh - My Story tells Donal’s story in his own words, as well as those of his friends, his family and the many other people whose lives he touched. Irish rugby captain Paul O'Connell and musician Niall Breslin were just some of the individuals who felt the teenager's impact, and they've been sharing their thoughts about him for the New Year's Day special.
Viewers can expect to watch a fun loving young boy become a brave teenager who is dealt a terminal diagnosis but refuses to give up on life. In the last few months of his life, he lived life to the limit, while trying to change the world as he did. From his local hero award in Kerry to his now infamous appearance on the Saturday Night Show, to his courageous death and beyond, this documentary profiles a boy who loved life and refused to fear death.
