Not too sure we'd be overly enthused about opting for this kind of treatment ourselves, but 'tis a sure sign of the direction in which technology is taking.
This clip here from Doctors On Call shows us how in the future, you could undergo surgery for something as particular as cancer removal without ever coming face to face with your doctor. So the leading specialist you need may be based here in Dublin while you require surgery from all the way down in Sydney.
New robot technology removes the need to be in the same room, allowing you the freedom to be on different continents yet retain the same specialist. One thing's for sure, it'd want to be a pretty reliable robot to get us to sign on.
