If you've finished watching all those bran new episodes of Arrested Development then you'll be glad to know that Netflix's next original series, Orange Is The New Black, isn't too far off.

Weeds creator Jenji Kohan has teamed up with the streaming giant to create and produce the series, which is based on the U.S. best-selling memoir of the same name by Piper Kerman. Orange Is The New Black tells the tale of engaged Brooklynite Piper Chapman, who ends up in prison thanks to her decade-old relationship with a drug-runner.

Cue a massive change of scenery for the New Yorker, who is forced to leave her fella and her beautiful wardrobe behind, and get accustomed to life in an orange jumpsuit. Can she survive among a group of eccentric and rather outspoken inmates?

Taylor Schilling
takes the lead as poor unfortunate Piper, while American Pie star Jason Biggs returns to the screen to play her fiance. And as if that wasn't enough, That 70's Show star Laura Prepon is the drug-runner. We can't wait to see how this pans out.

All 13 episodes of Orange Is The New Black land on Netflix Ireland from 8.01am on July 11th.
