The first clip that shows the crossover episode between The Simpsons and Futurama has landed, and it's pretty odd.

Bringing Futurama back from the dead (again) for one last adventure, this crossover episode will see bender somehow end up in the basement of The Simpson household, and Homer leaves Bart out as bait to try and get the shadowy character to come out from his hiding place.  In a Terminator-style storyline, Bender has traveled back in time to eliminate Bart,

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, who exclusively have the clip, executive producer Al Jean said that, given the fact that Futurama was going off air, they though it would be nice to give fans one more chance to see the characters that they loved so much.

This will be the second crossover in the series after the Griffins also visited Springfield earlier this year, and while this could be seen as a pretty desperate ploy, the tagline for the episode is, as you might expect from The Simpsons, a clever self-deprecating gag, dubbing this a chapter where "the show that has run out of ideas meets the show that has run out of episodes".
