It's the Cinderella story that's doing a mighty fine job of distracting the world from its problem this week.

Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle are set to tie the knot and as usual with anybody new that joins the royal family, everybody must know everything about her since the moment she was born.

While we all know she stars in legal drama Suits, her rise to fame wasn't straightforward and before she got her big break she worked as one of the models on the US version of Deal or No Deal.

Take a look at her in action below:

Not quite as entertaining as Aaron Paul on The Price is Right back in the day, but it's up there.

Speaking to Esquire back in 2013 about her time on the show, Markle said: "I would put that in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet.

"I went from working in the US Embassy in Argentina to ending up on Deal. It's run the gamut. Definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing.

"So if that's a way for me to gloss over that subject, then I will happily shift gears into something else."

The actress said she never even had the winning case either, "I was the ill-fated number 26, which for some reason no-one would ever choose. I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down."

Seriously, all this story needs is a couple of ugly stepsisters.
